Ask a librarian

Reference librarians provide assistance, in order to solve your information needs, during opening hours in (from Monday to Friday, between 9 AM and 8 PM and Sunday from 8 AM and 1 PM):
  • finding information on a specific topic;
  • searching databases (library catalog) and the Internet;
  • answering questions about our library services and resources;
  • providing instruction and guidance to our users in their research.

Bibliographies on specific topics

    You may submit your question to the reference librarians:

  • In person, during opening hours, at the Reference Desk from the headquarters of "V.A. Urechia" County Public Library situated on 16 Mihai Bravu Street or from the library branches. For more complex research, please feel free and visit us at the Bibliographic Information Office.

  • By telephone, during opening hours. Call 0040 236 411037, extension 111 (Reference Desk), 112 or 114.

  • E-mail at the following addresses: bvau@bvau.ro, bvau.referinte@yahoo.com, bvau.referinte@gmail.com filling the field "Subject" of the text message with "Ref@".

    • Once the question is sent, you'll receive a confirmation message in which we will indicate you the period of time necessary for answering your question which depends on the complexity of your request. In case your question is urgent, please let us know.
  • IM (instant messaging) is available during library hours using Digsby (Yahoo, gTalk). The screen name is: bvau.referinte.

We will answer instant messenger, e-mail or telephone questions that need limited research, such as finding articles or books from the library's collections on specific topics, library rules or the services we provide.


For more complex bibliographic requests, you are invited to come to the library premises, at the Reference Department where a librarian will help you identify your information needs. To schedule such a meeting one can use the telephone, the instant messenger or the email.
